Chapter 1954: Start of the Bloodline Legacy Battle!

At one end of the arena stood the statue of the First Progenitor. It wasn’t the same statue Max had seen in the sealed hall, but it carried the same face, the same posture, and the same strange calmness.

This statue was far larger, standing above one whole end of the arena like a silent judge watching over every descendant of the Four Sacred Clans. Its eyes were closed, its robes carved from dark stone, and its presence made the whole battlefield feel like something more than just a competition ground.

The other four ends belonged to the Four Sacred Clans.

One end belonged to Valerius. It was built from white-gold stone, covered in sunlike patterns and sharp sacred banners.

The people seated there carried proud, brilliant auras, and many wore robes decorated with golden flame-like markings. Their presence was bright, domineering, and noble, as if they’d been born to stand beneath a higher light.

Another end belonged to Ashbourne. Their platform was darker, built from black stone and crimson metal. The aura there was heavy, fierce, and oppressive. Many Ashbourne descendants had sharp eyes and battle-hardened expressions, and even their silence felt like restrained violence.

The third end belonged to Ravenhart. That platform was elegant and mysterious, filled with deep purple banners, black-feathered motifs, and moonlike crystals hanging in the air.

The people there looked calm, strange, and hard to read. Some carried scholarly auras, while others seemed as dangerous as hidden blades.

The fourth end belonged to Evercrest. It was covered in green-gold light, living wood, jade stone, and layered spatial formations.

Max immediately recognized the same refined spatial style he’d seen throughout the Evercrest Clan. The people there wore robes of green, silver, and white, and their gazes turned toward Rose and Max almost instantly when the two of them arrived.

Then there was the sixth end.

It was abandoned. No banners hung there. No clan insignia marked it. The platform sat dark, empty, and silent, covered in broken stone seats and old cracks.

Compared to the other five ends, it looked forgotten, almost deliberately left untouched. Still, Max’s eyes lingered on it longer than he expected.

Something about that abandoned end felt strange. It wasn’t completely dead. It felt like a place kept reserved for something that no longer existed.

Rose noticed where he was looking and said quietly, “That’s the abandoned end.”

Max glanced at her. “Who did it used to belong to?”

Rose stayed silent for a moment. Then she said, “That’s not something people talk about during the Bloodline Legacy Battle.”

Max looked at her calmly and didn’t push it further. He looked around and didn’t see any crowd at that end either. It was suspiciously empty.

‘Huh?’ It was then that Max noticed the sixth end wasn’t completely empty after all. There was an old man sitting alone at that end, his eyes closed. ‘Very strange.’

There would be time to find out more later.

The arena was already overflowing with people from the Four Sacred Clans. Countless descendants, elders, guardians, representatives, servants, branch family members, and invited observers filled the four clan platforms.

Their voices blended into a deep roar that rolled across the arena like thunder. This battle wasn’t open to the whole Divine Realm the way the Cosmic Ascension Conference had been, but the pressure here was no weaker. In some ways it felt even heavier, since everyone present carried blood ties to one of the oldest, most mysterious human forces in existence.

The moment Rose and Max appeared, plenty of eyes shifted toward them.

At first, some people only looked at Rose. Then they recognized Max. A wave of whispers spread quickly across the Evercrest platform first, then across the other sacred clan ends.

“That’s Rose.”

“She actually came.”

“So the castaway descendant dared to use the old rule?”

“Who’s the man beside her?”

“Are you blind? That’s Max Morgan.”

“The champion of the Cosmic Ascension Conference?”

“The one who beat Revona?”

“He got the Primordial Race’s reward, didn’t he?”

“Why would someone like him represent Rose?”

The whispers grew louder. Some people looked shocked. Some looked curious. Some looked unhappy. Some looked openly hostile.

Max ignored all of it.

Rose felt those stares more deeply, though. She kept her back straight and her expression calm, but Max could sense the tension in her breathing. This was the place that had rejected her.

These were the people who’d looked down on her since birth just because she’d been born without the forbidden bloodline. Coming back here under all these eyes wasn’t easy for her, even if she didn’t let it show.

Max walked beside her without changing his pace. That alone made a fair number of people quiet down a little.

Rose led him toward a smaller waiting area beneath the Evercrest end. It wasn’t among the main Evercrest heirs, but on a lower platform set aside for special challengers and castaway descendants invoking old rules.

There weren’t many people there. In fact, Rose seemed to be the only one from Evercrest using that path this time.

The message was clear. She was allowed to take part. But she wasn’t welcome.

As they reached the waiting area, an elder from the Evercrest side looked down at them with cold eyes.

“Rose Evercrest,” the elder said, his voice carrying across the lower platform. “You’ve come back to invoke the castaway challenge right.”

Rose raised her head and answered calmly, “Yes.”

The elder’s gaze moved to Max. “And this is your chosen representative?”

“Yes.”

The elder narrowed his eyes slightly. Even with his cold expression, he couldn’t deny who Max was.

The young man in front of him wasn’t some ordinary outsider. He was the champion of the Cosmic Ascension Conference, the genius personally rewarded by the Primordial Race, and someone whose name had already spread across the Divine Realm.

The elder stayed silent for a moment before saying, “The old rule allows it. But remember, Rose Evercrest, if your representative fails, you’ll bear the consequences yourself.”

Rose’s hands tightened slightly at her sides. “I know.”

The statue of the First Progenitor stood silently at one end. Valerius, Ashbourne, Ravenhart, and Evercrest each held their own sacred platforms. The abandoned sixth end stayed empty and dark.

Max looked across the packed arena, sensing the countless powerful auras, hidden bloodline pressures, and hostile stares gathering around them.

The Bloodline Legacy Battle hadn’t even started yet. But the stage was already alive.
