Chapter 1952: A new attack!
Max walked toward the training chamber. The doors opened automatically, revealing a wide circular space reinforced with countless spatial runes.
The floor was black stone, the walls were layered with silver patterns, and the ceiling held several floating crystals that seemed able to adjust gravity, space pressure, and energy density. It was a solid chamber, especially for a guest room.
But Max didn’t plan to use only this chamber.
He raised his hand. Space rippled. A moment later, Max entered his Dimension of Time.
The world around him changed. The quiet Evercrest room disappeared, replaced by the familiar space where time flowed according to his will. Here, he could think, train, refine, and analyze far more deeply than in the outside world.
The week before the Bloodline Legacy Battle wasn’t long, but for Max, with the Dimension of Time at his disposal, it was enough to prepare a great deal.
He sat cross-legged at the center of the dimension. Soon, his thoughts turned to one battle in particular.
His battle with Revona.
Among all the fights in the Cosmic Ascension Conference, Revona had pushed him into the toughest spot. Damian’s sword had been terrifying. Ervin’s abyss had been dangerous. Orion’s stars had been powerful. Kaiden’s space path had run deep.
But Revona had been different.
Her Void Origin Eyes hadn’t just attacked him. They’d stripped him bare. They’d shut down his powers one after another. Return To Nothing had already been dangerous enough on its own, but Null Origin Tide had been the real problem.
The moment that pale gray tide spread out, Max’s draconic essences, Dragon Scales Transformation, Divine Veins, Divine King Punishment, Devouring Flames Domain, and even his clone’s time concept had all gotten stripped away or suppressed.
His Emotion Severing Path had barely held on, and even that had been weakened to a dangerous degree.
In the end, Max had turned to the Dimensional Keeper legacy. That power had let him stand beyond Revona’s level of nullification, cut through Null Origin Tide, and beat her. But Max didn’t like relying on a power he couldn’t fully control.
The Dimensional Keeper legacy was strong, but it wasn’t something he could call on as naturally as his own sword, bloodline, or Pseudo Cosmic Paths yet. In a real life-or-death fight, leaning on a power that might not answer at the right moment was foolish.
He needed another way. A way to beat Revona’s abilities without leaning on the Dimensional Keeper legacy.
Max closed his eyes. The battle replayed in his mind.
Revona standing calmly in the arena. The Void Origin Eyes opening fully. The Void Origin Realm spreading out. His attacks being traced, hollowed, delayed, and erased. His black flames devouring but never fully consuming Return To Nothing.
His Emotion Severing Path cutting connections, but struggling once her nullification spread out in every direction.
Then the Null Origin Tide. A wave that didn’t target one attack or one technique but flooded the whole battlefield with origin-level nullification. Dodging it wasn’t enough.
Overpowering it with raw force wasn’t enough either. It attacked the very existence of his powers before they could properly take shape.
Max’s thoughts sharpened.
‘The problem wasn’t only strength. It was structure.’
Revona’s ability worked because her Void Origin Eyes could identify, trace, and nullify the foundation of whatever they touched.
If Max threw a normal attack, she could hollow it out. If he released a domain, she could weaken its source. If he used bloodline power, she could drag it toward emptiness. Even the Devouring Flames Domain, built for consuming things, still had a definable structure she could target.
In other words, anything clear enough to be understood could be nullified.
That was terrifying. But not unbeatable.
Max started thinking through possible counters.
The first was speed. If he attacked faster than Revona could properly trace, he might land a hit before her nullification finished forming. But against her fully awakened Void Origin Eyes, that wasn’t reliable.
Her perception was too sharp, and her past-life experience made her reactions almost inhuman.
The second was overwhelming force. If his attack went beyond what her current realm could nullify, it would break through.
That was essentially what the Dimensional Keeper legacy had done. But without relying on that legacy, Max needed another source of overwhelming authority. His Tier 4 Primordial Bloodline might eventually help, but it was too newly integrated and not yet awake enough to work as a stable counter.
The third was concealment. If Revona couldn’t identify the true source of an attack, her nullification might lose precision. Max had already used the Devouring Flames Domain and a time clone to throw off her Void Origin Eyes, but that had only delayed her. It hadn’t solved the root problem.
The fourth was layering. If one attack carried multiple false structures, false sources, and shifting cores, Revona might end up nullifying the wrong layer first. While she stripped away one part, the true killing intent could slip through along another path. This one had potential.
Max opened his eyes slightly.
‘An attack with no fixed origin. A sword strike whose source keeps shifting between bloodline, law, domain, body, emotion, and space.’
His gaze deepened. Revona’s Void Origin Eyes were terrifying because they could trace an attack back to its foundation.
So what if the foundation kept changing every instant? What if the attack carried several foundations at once? What if the visible source was fake, the second source was bait, and the true source only existed at the moment of impact?
Max raised one hand. A faint sword light appeared above his palm. The Emotion Severing Path flowed into it first. Then Divine King Punishment flickered around it as seven-colored lightning. Then the Devouring Flames Domain formed a thin black flame along the edge. Space folded faintly around the sword light.
The first attempt collapsed almost instantly.
Max frowned slightly. The powers rejected each other because their structures were too different. Emotion Severing wanted to cut connection.
Divine King Punishment wanted to judge and punish. Devouring Flames wanted to consume. Space wanted to shift and fold. If he forced them together carelessly, the result would be unstable and easy to read.
That wouldn’t work against Revona.
He let the sword light disperse and tried again. This time, he didn’t combine the powers from the outside. He started from the intent itself.
A sword meant to keep the enemy from locating its true source. A sword meant to keep changing its foundation. A sword meant to survive nullification by never staying one thing long enough to be fully erased.
Max’s expression settled into calm. He had one week outside. Inside the Dimension of Time, that could stretch into much longer.
He didn’t need to finish a perfect counter in one session. He just needed to start forming a path. The next time he faced Revona’s Null Origin Tide, he didn’t want to rely only on the Dimensional Keeper legacy.
He wanted an answer of his own.
Max lifted Dragonheart. His white hair moved slightly in the silent space.
“Let’s begin.”
The Dimension of Time filled with sword light.
