Chapter 789: Did we get him?

Every domain pressed toward Damon at once, crushing space, sealing movement, suffocating escape. Layers upon layers of power overlapped, turning the battlefield into a prison of absolute destruction.

Damon stood in the center of it all. The pressure slammed into him like a tidal wave.

His body trembled violently as dozens of silver runes flared at once, trying to suppress him again, trying to seal him before he could fully break free.

For a brief moment, it worked. Damon’s knees buckled. Blood spilled from his lips. But then, Damon slowly stood up and flashed his eyes open.

“Ha Ha Ha Ha!” His laughter roared as his figure straightened. Even as he did, a dozen silver runes shattered, releasing more and more of his powers. In the blink of an eye, all of the silver runes were broken down.

Without stopping, Damon continued the momentum and crushed the last of the runes, pushing the poison completely out of the body. His body roared with power now that nothing was holding him back. It felt as if every inch of him was baptized by pure energy.

Thanks to all the insights he had gained from fighting with the massive devourer, his dao energy was now much more refined, and his dao core was more completely formed. His primordial mana core was brimming with power. He was ready to fire on all cylinders.

His entire body was tied down and drained by an A-rank poison, and now he had conquered it completely. He was bursting with power from head to toe. He was officially ready to rumble once again.

Damon exhaled slowly. A faint mist of crimson energy escaped his lips. Everyone had shown their hand, and now it was time to show his. He smiled gently as he unleashed his poison blood domain. He took a step forward, and his domain bloomed.

The next second, the world turned red.

The ground beneath him darkened first, the cracked plains taking on a deep crimson hue as if soaked in blood that had been there long before anyone arrived. The sky started pouring crimson rain.

Instantly, the other side crumbled. The great tree shuddered as its bark blackened, leaves shriveling instantly under the contact. The inferno hissed violently, its flames sputtering as if something far more toxic than water had been poured over it. Even the blade domain trembled, its invisible edges losing their sharpness as the crimson rain dulled their killing intent.

“What is this poison?!” one elder roared, his voice filled with disbelief.

Damon walked forward slowly, completely unhurried, his figure partially obscured by the relentless rain. Then, suddenly, he disappeared, appearing in front of the first elder. Blood red wings burst open behind his back. Blood tendrils erupted out of the ground all around them.

The elder’s eyes widened. Before he could react, countless blood tendrils assaulted him from all sides. Each of them possessed an unstoppable power, and their ends were as sharp as B-rank epic-grade blades.

The other guy’s domain surged instinctively, branches of power rising to block the incoming assault, but it was of no use. The blood blades were absolute and chaotic, and they made quick work of the elder.

They cut through flesh like butter and completely butchered him in a matter of seconds. His domain, defense, nothing helped at all. The elder was nothing more than a meat paste before he even understood what had happened.

Chunks of flesh and streams of blood scattered across the crimson rain, only to be swallowed instantly. One moment, he was a peak B-rank powerhouse. The next moment, he was gone.

The remaining elders froze, their expressions twisting in disbelief as they stared at the empty space where their companion had been just seconds ago.

“Impossible…” one of them whispered.

Damon hovered there, wings slowly beating, the tendrils retracting back into the blood-soaked ground like obedient beasts returning to their master.

“Hmmm… you guys will rezz again, right? One of these days, I have to learn a more efficient killing skill.” He mused as his gaze shifted to the next target.

Old Cao’s face darkened completely. “All of you, together! Stop holding back!”

This time, no one hesitated. The remaining elders moved as one. One after another powerful Dao infused attacks landed on Damon. Blades, flames, crushing force, binding roots, each infused with dao, each capable of killing a peak B-rank instantly.

The world lit up.

Explosions chained into explosions as their attacks landed one after another, tearing through the crimson rain, ripping apart the space where Damon stood. The ground caved in, the air shattered, and the entire battlefield was swallowed under a blinding surge of destruction.

“Did we get him?!” one elder shouted, breathing heavy.

“No… something’s wrong,” Old Cao muttered, his eyes locked onto the collapsing explosion.

Because the crimson rain hadn’t stopped. If anything, it had gotten heavier. Before anyone could sense anything, Damon once again appeared in front of another elder. His blood wings flared as power rippled around him.

This time, thousands of blades erupted from his wings. Like a blooming flower made of death, each blade was formed from condensed blood and poison, each one sharper, denser, and more refined than the last.

The poison was not strong enough against these B-rank powerhouses, but it did not matter. The sheer power of the blades was enough to overwhelm the elder. The air screamed as they manifested, unable to withstand the sheer pressure radiating from them.

The elder didn’t even get a chance to turn. Once again, the blades butchered him and consumed him, both blood and flesh alike.

“Who’s next?” Damon smiled calmly. “I am fully pumped and ready to go.” The remaining elders gawked at him as if they were looking straight at the devil.

They were not some newly born B ranks. Each and every single one of them was a seasoned veteran who had faced countless foes before. They were the clan elders of the top families in their worlds before they were sent to this world.

But this monster in front of them… they had never seen anything like this. If they continued to let him grow any more, then there was no telling what would happen in the future! They needed to somehow end this right now. No matter what the cost.

“Gote! Use that attack.” Cao shouted.

Gote’s eyes widened in shock, but he did not hesitate.

“Do it!” Cao roared, veins bulging across his face. The next second, the remaining eight elders all simultaneously took out a bead from their spatial ring.

Each bead pulsed faintly, containing within it a sealed, condensed force that did not belong to B-rank entities. The next second, eight seals flashed simultaneously.

The crimson sky fractured.

Hairline cracks spread across Damon’s blood domain like glass under pressure, each seal releasing a surge of authority that did not belong to this space. The rain faltered for the first time since it began, drops freezing mid-air before dissolving into nothing.

The seals burned brighter.

Eight pillars of light erupted from the elders, piercing straight into the heavens. Their bodies trembled violently as something foreign, something far above their natural limits, descended into them. Their aura skyrocketed like a floodgate had been opened.

Before Damon could do anything, their auras connected with the eight seal, and just like that, an unbreakable prison dome formed. The crimson domain was cut off instantly.
