Summary
In this world, strange dimensions appear without warning.
Some are small enough to be contained. Others remain active for years, producing creatures that regularly spill into human territory. Because of that, strength is not treated as a luxury. It is part of everyday life. Schools train future Awakened, governments monitor dimensional spaces, and countless young people dream of awakening abilities that might change their future.
Jiang Xiao enters this world carrying a problem most people would struggle to explain.
The memories in his head do not always feel like his own.
Some belong to the life he is currently living, a life filled with school exams, cultivation classes, and an older sister whose personality can switch between caring and terrifying with almost no warning. Other memories feel disconnected, as if they originated somewhere else entirely. Rather than finding answers, Jiang Xiao mostly finds new reasons to be confused.
Fortunately, confusion has never stopped him from talking.
Or causing trouble.
A large part of the novel follows Jiang Xiao as he adjusts to a society where supernatural abilities are treated as normal, though “adjusting” may be giving him too much credit. He spends just as much time annoying people, making questionable decisions, and stumbling into unexpected situations as he does training seriously.
That does not mean the world itself is lighthearted.
Beyond the cities lie dimensional realms filled with dangers that have already claimed countless lives. Every year, students compete for opportunities that could shape their future, while experienced Awakened risk themselves exploring places most people would never willingly enter. Success brings rewards, but failure can be costly.
Life becomes considerably more complicated once Jiang Xiao starts interacting with other young Awakened. Competition is everywhere, tempers flare easily, and somebody is always trying to prove they are stronger than somebody else.
At first glance, Jiang Xiao does not seem particularly heroic. He jokes too much, speaks when silence would probably be smarter, and has a habit of approaching situations from angles nobody expects.
Yet somehow, those same qualities keep pushing him toward places where ordinary people rarely get the chance to stand.
Whether that is good luck or terrible luck depends entirely on the day.
