My Talent’s Name Is Generator - Chapter 1268
Chapter 1268: Death
“Right to Decay.”
I swung.
The Time Sword passed through his body.
There was no explosion.
No great shockwave.
His body simply began to decay from the point where the blade had passed.
The power of Time accelerated the natural progression of his existence while Right to Decay stripped away everything that remained. His flesh withered, his bones turned gray, and his golden blood dried almost instantly. He tried to release his Time Origin one final time, but the chains of the formation held him firmly in place.
Within seconds, Eternal Time’s body collapsed.
The once-mighty Middle Demi-God who had mastered Time for countless years disintegrated into countless particles of golden dust.
His soul and Origin remained for only an instant before the black hole within my Divine Core opened.
A terrifying suction force swept across the battlefield.
His remaining soul was dragged inside first, followed by the fragments of his Time Origin. I did not allow a single fragment to escape. Everything was swallowed directly into the depths of my Divine Core, where the black hole began devouring and refining the enormous amount of comprehension contained within it.
I closed my eyes.
The comprehension of Time flooded into me.
It was far greater than anything I had absorbed before.
Eternal Time had spent countless years comprehending the same Origin, and now everything he had accumulated was being converted into my own understanding. Not only that but his sacrificial move as well as the three branches contributed to my new comprehension. My Divine Core trembled as golden Time Origin spread through it, and the resonance that had remained at thirty-two percent began climbing rapidly.
Thirty-three..Thirty-five…Thirty-eight.
The increase continued.
Then, finally, it stopped.
Time Origin — 43%.
I opened my eyes.
A faint golden light flickered within my pupils.
I had crossed another major threshold.
Eternal Time had spent his entire existence mastering Time. In the end, that very comprehension had become mine.
After absorbing Eternal Time’s Origin, I did not immediately leave Rumble Valley. My body was still standing, but my Soul Force had been almost completely exhausted. The battle had pushed me far beyond what I had expected, especially after forcing the formation to operate at full capacity and combining so many Origins together. I found a relatively stable piece of ancient planetary debris and sat down cross-legged, allowing the formation around me to gradually quiet down while I focused entirely on recovery.
The Generator Core inside my Divine Core immediately began working at full speed. It continuously converted the Essence I absorbed into Soul Force, while I simultaneously drew the surrounding Essence into my body as quickly as possible.
The ancient battlefield contained an enormous amount of energy left behind by countless battles between Demi-Gods, and although much of it was chaotic, my Divine Core could refine it without difficulty. Streams of Essence entered my body and were converted into usable energy, while the Generator Core continued producing Soul Force without pause.
I remained there for some time, silently recovering.
Eventually, the emptiness within my Divine Core began to disappear, and the Deep Golden Soul Force that had been almost completely exhausted started filling the vast Soul Sea once again. My breathing gradually became steady, and the exhaustion that had settled over my body faded away. Once I felt that I had recovered enough to move freely again, I opened my eyes and looked toward the distant void.
There was no reason for me to remain here any longer.
I had dealt with both traitors.
Now it was time to understand what was happening on the larger battlefield.
I contacted the System and sent a message to Amun.
“Tell Amun that I have dealt with both traitors and that I will be waiting for him here in Rumble Valley.”
The System responded almost immediately.
[Message delivered.]
I leaned back slightly and waited.
It did not take long.
A faint fluctuation appeared in the distant void, and I immediately recognized Amun’s presence. A moment later, Space rippled, and Amun stepped into Rumble Valley.
But he was not alone.
Aurora followed behind him.
My gaze immediately settled on her.
I had interacted with Aurora before, but this time I carefully observed her presence. The moment I extended my perception toward her, I finally understood the level she had reached.
Peak Demi-God.
Her Dream Authority had reached an astonishing forty-nine percent.
I could not help but look at her for another moment.
Aurora noticed my gaze and smiled faintly, but then her expression suddenly changed as she looked at me more carefully. Her eyes widened, and her mouth opened slightly in genuine surprise.
“You…”
She stared at me for several seconds before finally speaking.
“You became this strong?”
I smiled.
“I am just a hardworking guy.”
Aurora’s expression became strange for a moment, as though she was trying to decide whether I was joking.
Amun, however, simply shook his head before turning his attention toward me.
“Where are Eternal Time and Annihilating Lightning?”
“They are dead.”
Amun became silent.
For several seconds, he simply looked at me before releasing a long sigh.
“Eternal Time was a good man,” he said eventually. “He worked hard and spent countless years comprehending Time. Unfortunately, he became too greedy and ambitious.”
There was no anger in his voice.
Only disappointment.
He took a deep breath before continuing.
“With the loss of both Eternal Time and Annihilating Lightning, our defenses will certainly become somewhat weaker. However, we have also dealt significant damage to the Eternals. Six Demi-Gods were sent into this battlefield, and all six are now dead. The Eternals will not launch any major attack against us anytime soon. They will first need to understand what happened here and determine exactly how they lost so many Demi-Gods.”
I nodded slowly.
That made sense.
But there was still something that had been bothering me ever since I learned about the Eternals and their vassal universes.
I looked toward Amun.
“There is something I want to ask.”
He nodded.
“The Eternals have vassal universes under their control. They have more Demi-Gods than we do, and they have Theras, who is even stronger than you. If that is the case, why haven’t they simply launched an all-out attack and captured the Prime Universe?”
The question had been sitting in my mind for a long time.
If the Eternals truly possessed such overwhelming forces, there should have been no reason for them to continue fighting through limited engagements. They could have gathered their entire army, entered the battlefield together, and attempted to crush us through sheer numbers.
Yet they had never done so.
