Chapter 2663: Chapter 2663: Brotherhood

“If a person doesn’t have emotions, can they still be considered human?” Julius Reed didn’t agree with the swordsman but instead questioned, “The reason humans are called humans is because they have emotions.”

Even though Julius Reed couldn’t be sure if the swordsman was truly himself, or if everything he was seeing now was something he had experienced before, he didn’t agree with this view.

At the very least, he still liked Quella Radcliffe and others for now.

People aren’t grass or trees; who can be without emotions?

Wanting to achieve that is very difficult.

Even though many people claim to be emotionless, when they truly encounter certain people or events, they still develop feelings.

Otherwise, why would there be such a saying as love at first sight?

“People also die. But right now, are you dead? How long have you lived? You might not even know yourself.” The swordsman sat on a rock, his back to Julius Reed, speaking softly.

“Humans have weaknesses, and that leads to a miserable death.”

The valley fell into silence.

“How do you know she betrayed you?” Julius Reed broke the silence, opening his mouth to ask.

At first, he also thought the swordsman was here to save people.

But eventually, he could see the swordsman had long harbored thoughts of murder.

When he took action, it was with the intent to kill.

He must have had some idea.

But when knowing, why deliberately do this?

“I can stay alive because I don’t trust anyone.” The swordsman lowered his head, smelling the wine in his hand.

His wine gourd seemed like it would never run dry.

“I don’t trust anyone, but I’m still human. I have human desires and emotions, which make me very painful, extremely painful!”

The swordsman lowered his head, his voice filled with anguish.

“You know? Only by personally killing her, and seeing her betray me with my own eyes, can I give up.”

“I know she wants to kill me, and I believe it. But I gave her a chance; as long as she didn’t draw her knife, I could even let her go. But she didn’t; I gave her the right to choose, and she chose death.”

The swordsman buried his head deeper.

He clenched his fist with one hand, extremely angry.

Even with rage!

“Damn it! In this world, no one is worthy of my feelings; they all deserve to die!”

The swordsman stood up, seeming relieved.

“I want to make a trip to the Marquis’s mansion, and you must come with me. Because even if I don’t want to, you’ll follow me, right?”

After speaking, the swordsman mounted the horse of those people and galloped forward.

Julius Reed followed closely, grabbing a horse and catching up.

As the hooves passed over the bodies of those people, everything seemed to change.

The woman on the ground still had fear and surprise on her face.

As if she hadn’t expected to fail.

For some reason, when Julius Reed passed by there, his heart suddenly ached.

As if the one who was betrayed was himself.

Sad, hurt.

The horse galloped and suddenly vanished.

The scene quickly moved to a building up ahead.

The swordsman carried a sword as he dismounted.

But Julius Reed’s horse disappeared.

He appeared inside the palace.

Just in time to witness the swordsman’s moment of breaking through the gates.

“You…”

The gatekeeper saw the swordsman and couldn’t help but speak in panic, “Aren’t you…”

“Am I already dead?” The swordsman smiled and said, “How could it be? I wouldn’t die; I just came to see you all out of nostalgia.”

Then, he quickly drew his sword!

Julius Reed didn’t even clearly see how the sword was unsheathed.

And the people were all dead.

Interestingly, those panicked people who fled in terror, along with those in the Marquis’s mansion, all seemed unable to see Julius Reed.

Some even passed through him.

Only now did Julius Reed realize others couldn’t see him.

Nor could they hear him speak.

He couldn’t change anything; he could only witness the events unfold firsthand.

After the gatekeepers died, the whole Marquis’s mansion was thrown into chaos.

People moved back and forth; some fled for their lives, others went to report the situation.

The swordsman stood in the center, seemingly waiting for someone to emerge.

This confidence was something Julius Reed somewhat admired.

If he were his previous life, he could accept that.

But things hadn’t reached the end, so he couldn’t be certain.

Was his identity really that simple?

Tracing back through generations, now was the best opportunity.

Soon, everyone from the Marquis’s mansion came out.

A fat man, dressed very neatly, held a large sword in his hand, surrounded by many people.

“What are you doing!” The fat man pointed at the swordsman and shouted, “Trying to kill me now? Don’t forget, I am the Marquis!”

The people around quickly took action, each with a murderous aura.

“So what if you’re the Marquis? Let me ask you a question.” The swordsman held his sword single-handedly, speaking calmly, “Will the Marquis die?”

“I don’t know if the Marquis will die, but I know that for the Marquis to kill a nobody like you, it’s effortless!”

The fat man sneered, “If you run away quietly, you should live secretly, enjoy life before I find you. But now, you’re walking into your own trap, making me really feel puzzled, huh?”

As he spoke, everyone surrounded him.

“I’ve said before, arrogance doesn’t kill, but overconfidence truly does.” The swordsman shook his head, the tone full of helplessness, “I’ve said many times, but you never listen. People like you, only death can save.”

“Ha! You lowly person! I, the true Marquis, treated you like a brother, and you didn’t know how to be grateful, even turning against me! Really flattering you; in this era, even if you have some skills, so what?” The fat man spat on the ground, “I never esteemed you highly.”

“I’m pleased that I lost brotherhood feelings here, lost love; I even thank you. But since I’m so grateful to you, let me just let you die.”

The swordsman spoke very casually.

He stepped forward.

“How dare you offend the true Marquis! By law, you should be torn to pieces! Everyone, kill him!”

As soon as the fat man finished speaking, two masters leaped out.

Julius Reed stood among them, like air.

Watching quietly.

The swordsman dashed swiftly!

Blood mist filled the sky.

The two men flew up, but never landed.

Vanished.

Or rather, directly shattered.

“You!” The fat man’s eyes showed shock, but only briefly, before resuming his fierceness, “Kill him! Heavy rewards await!”

The promise of great rewards always inspires bravery!

The few exchanged glances, confident in their ability, swiftly moved to attack the swordsman!

“Boasting doesn’t kill, but indeed spreads. Overconfidence is a disease, and it’s lethal.”

The swordsman was neither rushed nor stressed, he even poured himself a drink.

He downed the drink quickly, then drew his sword swiftly!

A very simple and straightforward strike.

But within this strike, Julius Reed perceived an epiphany of the great path.

Boom!

The several were immediately frozen in place, collapsing dead.

Sword Qi severed their tendons.
