Chapter 2662: Chapter 2662: The Ruthless Swordsman

Standing in the center of the square, Julius Reed looked around.

As expected, within this palace, every building holds significance.

Seen from above, the arrangement of the palace perfectly aligns with the positions of the Bagua.

But Julius Reed isn’t concerned about this right now.

Holding onto the Heaven-Opening Book, and ensuring no one was around, he leaped into the air.

Landing directly beside the statue.

Just as he expected.

As Julius Reed guessed, the hand of the Nine Provinces King was posed in a peculiar manner.

As if reading a book.

Julius Reed carefully placed the Heaven-Opening Book onto it.

The moment it was placed.

The ground shook violently!

Standing firmly on the arm of the Nine Provinces King, Julius Reed remained steady.

Despite the earth’s shaking, he did not fall.

But what’s strange.

After placing the Heaven-Opening Book on the Nine Provinces King’s hand, it began to emit a glow.

The book started flipping through its pages.

The patterns on it seemed to come to life, continuously emerging from the pages.

First, various Divine Weapons, then assorted spirit beasts, and finally all kinds of people!

Julius Reed finally saw that swordsman!

Also listed among the foremost in the Heaven-Opening Book!

The one Julius Reed believed resembled him!

He’s not sure, but now that the opportunity has appeared, he cannot give it up.

Julius Reed leaped forward, colliding with the phantom!

Buzz!

In that instant.

He felt like he’d fallen into water.

The surroundings were no longer the world he knew, no longer within the Nine Provinces King’s palace.

Where he was, Julius Reed couldn’t tell.

Looking around in bewilderment, he instinctively raised his head to look at the sky.

The sky wasn’t a sky.

Instead, it waved like water, a lush green.

Beneath his feet, it was real ground.

Surrounded by mountains.

Only ahead was a mountain road.

“If there’s someone you need to save, but can only do so by killing those escorting her, what will you do?”

Suddenly, a voice came forth.

Julius Reed turned to find a swordsman suddenly appearing on the clearing.

The swordsman wore a worn-out conical hat, with a rusty iron sword slung over his shoulder.

In his other hand, he held a wine gourd.

But that wine gourd!

Julius Reed instinctively touched his waist!

So similar to the Divine Dragon Tripod?

Furthermore, on this swordsman’s finger, there was a dark ring.

“Who are you?”

Julius Reed asked.

His mind was a mix of excitement and speculation, but he needed clarity on what was happening now.

“Who am I?”

The swordsman chuckled, took a sip of wine and said, “You have the answer in your heart.”

“But I need you to say it aloud.” Julius Reed pressed on, “I need you to prove my speculation.”

“Speculation is ultimately speculation. To know the answer, verify it for yourself. Why are there so many people in the world wanting to gain without effort?”

The swordsman laughed lightly, shaking his head, “You haven’t answered my question yet.”

“I don’t know who this woman is. If she is someone I care for, it doesn’t matter who I kill.”

Julius Reed replied.

“Are you me?” He asked the question most pressing on his mind.

“Whether I am, that’s for you to verify.” The swordsman whistled softly, pointing ahead, “See, they’re coming.”

Julius Reed moved beside the swordsman, oddly finding he couldn’t see the swordsman’s face.

Yet in the valley, a group indeed appeared.

The leader rode a horse, holding a long spear.

Behind, there was a prison carriage, inside it sat a person.

Julius Reed activated the Eye of the Divine, seeing it was a woman.

After absorbing the Hawthorne family, Julius Reed could use the Eye of the Divine without restriction.

Considered a perfect integration.

“Sometimes, emotions are the most foolish, and loving someone equates to death.”

The swordsman suddenly sipped his wine, thoughtfully musing, “Only if your blood is cold, can your heart be warm.”

He took a step forward, with a slight turn of his head, “For the heart of the dead cannot be warm.”

Saying this, the swordsman leaped forward!

Landing directly on the road through the canyon.

That team immediately stopped.

“Who! Dares to intercept those from the Three Unions True Monarch!”

The leader raised his spear, unceremoniously saying, “Seeking death?”

“Who I am, you know clearly in your hearts.”

The swordsman took down the sword from his shoulder, casually saying, “Make your move, talking too much is pointless.”

“Haha! Indeed, talk less, act more fiercely! But let me tell you, today marks the end of your days!”

The leader on the white horse with spear laughed loudly, “Our True Monarch already predicted you would come to save this wretched woman! Why? When you clearly know we intend to use her, yet you still come!”

While speaking, those people had already spread out, encircling the swordsman tightly.

“Our True Monarch mansion’s elite, it’s somewhat trivial to kill you.” The spear-wielding man didn’t rush to attack, even disdainfully suggested, “Return with me, bow to the True Monarch and apologize.”

“Are you telling jokes?” The swordsman still smiled calmly, “Make your move.”

“Courting death!” The spear man surged forward, and at the same time, over a dozen people attacked the swordsman.

The swordsman effortlessly took a step forward, his longsword drawing a light arc.

Boom!

Instantly, a tremendous Sword Intent erupted!

All surrounding those people’s weapons shattered!

A dozen people were blown back, dying instantly.

Only the man holding the spear suffered a hit, falling to the ground.

On the brink of death, barely holding on.

“You…” He pointed at the swordsman in shock, his tone filled with disbelief. “You…”

“Nothing much? Never has anyone forced me to reveal my full strength.” The swordsman chuckled lightly, placing his foot on the man’s neck, “Including your True Monarch.”

“You…”

Before the man could finish his words, the swordsman directly slit his throat.

Killing him.

The previously aggressive team, now all were dead.

Only that one woman remained.

The swordsman stood up, wiped the blood off his body, as if nothing had happened, slowly walking to the woman.

“Brother!” The woman couldn’t help but cry.

She was covered in wounds, appearing aggrieved.

“It’s okay, it’s all over.” The swordsman swung the iron sword, shattering the cage.

“You won’t suffer such torment anymore.”

Sheathing the sword, the swordsman held the woman tightly.

“We’ve known each other for decades, I’ve liked you for decades. I once said, I’d give everything for you. But do you know, I’ve given my life.”

The swordsman spoke painfully.

He slowly stood up.

Only then did Julius Reed see clearly, the swordsman’s hand was tightly gripping the woman’s neck.

Raising her up!

And in the woman’s hand, a dagger had appeared, aimed at the swordsman’s chest.

“My lifelong love is you.” The swordsman shook his head.

“Why…” The woman was in immense pain.

“To personally kill you, kill my affection.”

The swordsman released his hand, the woman fell to the ground.

Dead.

“If you have feelings, you’re vulnerable everywhere.” The swordsman turned, speaking to Julius Reed, “Understand now?”
