Chapter 1817: The Second Round

He had arrived in a colossal arena.

Even for someone who had already seen many shocking places inside the Eternal Hourglass, Max could not help but narrow his eyes slightly at the sight before him. This was not an ordinary fighting ground.

It was an enormous circular battle stage suspended in the middle of a vast dark space within the Eternal Hourglass. Above it, one could see countless rivers of time-light flowing like upside-down galaxies, crossing each other high in the black void.

Some were golden, some silver, some crimson, and some deep blue, and together they formed a breathtaking canopy that made the entire place feel ancient, mysterious, and absolute. It was as though the Eternal Hourglass had carved out a sacred dueling world for the final hundred.

At the center of that space was the main stage.

The stage itself was unbelievably huge, large enough to contain a city, yet its design was simple and imposing. It was a perfectly circular arena made of dark gold stone mixed with strange silver-white crystal veins.

Ancient runes were engraved across every inch of its surface, and those runes gave off a heavy aura of law, time, and battle. The entire stage was surrounded by a transparent barrier of light that rose like an invisible dome into the sky, clearly meant to contain the force of the one-on-one battles that would soon take place there.

Despite the sheer size of the stage, there was no unnecessary decoration upon it. It was clean, vast, and solemn, like a place built for the strongest geniuses to decide victory and defeat with no room for excuses.

But what truly made the scene shocking was what surrounded the stage.

Around the enormous circular battlefield stood one hundred giant pillars.

Each pillar was positioned in a wide ring around the stage, suspended in the air at equal distance from one another, forming a majestic circle that enclosed the entire arena. These pillars were towering and ancient, each one at least hundreds of meters high, with broad flat tops large enough for a person to stand on comfortably.

Their surfaces were covered with glowing symbols and strange flowing patterns that seemed to record the identities, rankings, and auras of the participants standing upon them. From a distance, the one hundred pillars looked like the seats of one hundred kings arranged around a sacred battlefield.

And on those pillars, one after another, figures began to appear.

Beams of light descended upon the tops of the pillars, and the final hundred participants of the first round were transferred there.

Max found himself standing atop one of those pillars.

He looked around calmly.

On the neighboring pillars, one could already see figures becoming clear within the fading transfer light. Some stood with their arms crossed, some looked around in surprise, some released their auras unconsciously before restraining them again, and some remained completely calm as if they had already expected such a scene.

Damian Voss was there. Rakan Thorne was there. Orion Starfall, Kaiden Voidmere, Ervin, Princess Rosaline, and many others were also among them. Even from a glance, Max could tell that everyone who had survived until now was extraordinary.

The weak had long since been filtered out in the first round. What remained here were the true monsters of the younger generation.

Soon all one hundred pillars were occupied.

The scene became extremely imposing.

One hundred peak geniuses stood on one hundred towering pillars, forming a complete circle around the central battle stage. The atmosphere was heavy, but not chaotic. Unlike the first round, there was no wilderness, no hidden attacks from beasts, no ambushes in ruins, and no endless territories to cross.

Everything had become straightforward now. The final round would no longer test survival in a chaotic world. It would test direct strength.

A low humming sound spread through the arena.

The runes on the main stage lit up one after another, and the one hundred pillars also began to shine. Then, in the empty air above the central battlefield, a massive projection of light appeared. It was a grand panel formed entirely from law and spiritual energy, and the names of all one hundred participants began to appear upon it in flowing golden text.

At the same time, a voice echoed throughout the arena.

It was ancient, emotionless, and majestic, as though it did not come from a person but from the Eternal Hourglass itself.

[Welcome To The Final Round Of The Cosmic Ascension Conference.]

The moment those words rang out, the expressions of all one hundred participants became more focused.

The voice continued.

[The First Round Tested Survival, Opportunity, Adaptability, And Fortune.]

[The Second Round Will Test True Strength.]

[This Round Will Be Conducted Through One-On-One Battles.]

The giant stage beneath them gave off an even heavier aura as the voice spoke.

[The Central Stage Is The Final Battle Arena.]

[The One Hundred Pillars Are The Seats Of The Final Hundred Participants.]

[Each Participant Will Remain Upon Their Assigned Pillar Until Called To Battle.]

The one hundred pillars continued to shine around the colossal central stage, and the atmosphere inside the arena grew heavier with every passing breath.

No one spoke loudly anymore.

Even the more arrogant participants had become quiet after hearing that the final round would be conducted through direct one-on-one battles. The first round had been chaotic and uncertain, but this place was different.

Here, there would be nowhere to hide, nowhere to run, and no endless wilderness to rely on. Once your name was called, you would step onto the central stage and prove your worth with your own strength.

Just then, the space above the arena rippled.

It was not a violent distortion, nor was it the kind of arrival that released overwhelming pressure from the very beginning. Instead, it was elegant, silent, and strangely noble. The air above the central battlefield folded open like a curtain of light, and from within that light, a woman slowly stepped out.

The moment she appeared, many participants instinctively looked up.

She was dressed in a long silver-white robe that seemed to be woven from moonlight itself, and faint golden patterns flowed across its edges like living symbols. Her hair was a pale golden color, soft and radiant, falling down her back like a stream of sacred light.

Her face was breathtakingly beautiful, but it was not a beauty that made people think of softness. It carried dignity, distance, and a quiet authority that made it difficult for others to look at her casually. Around her, the laws of the arena seemed to calm down on their own, as if even the Eternal Hourglass was acknowledging her presence.

Max narrowed his eyes slightly.

This woman was strong.

Not just strong in the ordinary sense, but the kind of strong that made the entire arena feel quieter the moment she arrived. Yet unlike the monstrous pressure of someone trying to suppress others, her presence felt controlled to an absurd degree. It was almost as if she stood there while perfectly containing an enormous world inside herself.

Many participants frowned.

They could feel that this woman was no ordinary host, but most of them did not recognize her at all.

However, a few people’s expressions changed at once.

Damian Voss’s eyes narrowed sharply.

Orion Starfall’s relaxed smile disappeared for the first time since entering the second round arena.

Kaiden Voidmere’s calm gaze grew much deeper.

Princess Rosaline straightened unconsciously.

They all recognized one thing at the same time.

This woman’s bearing, bloodline aura, and presence were not something a common first-rate force could nurture.

But even then, none of them spoke immediately.
