Summary
Lu Ze thought dying would at least bring some kind of ending, instead he woke up in a future so far removed from his old life that even Earth barely felt familiar anymore.
Humanity had already stepped beyond its own solar system long ago. Cultivation was no longer treated like ancient fantasy or hidden legend, it had become part of everyday life, woven together with advanced technology, military systems, and interstellar society itself. Powerful cultivators stood at the center of human civilization, alien races existed openly across the galaxy, and survival in space depended just as much on spiritual strength as science.
Compared to all of that, Lu Ze himself seemed painfully ordinary.
His new identity came with a decent family, stable life, and average cultivation talent that wouldn’t attract attention anywhere. Honestly, he didn’t mind. After experiencing death once already, the idea of quietly attending school and living peacefully sounded better than chasing glory across the stars like some protagonist from old stories.
Then sleeping became dangerous.
Every night, Lu Ze finds himself dragged into a strange world that feels far too real to be a dream, a brutal wilderness filled with creatures capable of tearing him apart within seconds. The environment itself feels wrong in ways he can’t properly explain, silent at times, horrifying at others, like the entire place is watching him struggle to survive.
The first thing that nearly kills him is a rabbit.
Not a normal rabbit obviously, but something monstrous enough to crush bones and rip apart ordinary cultivators without effort. Fighting it with half-remembered martial arts and pure panic, Lu Ze barely survives his first night there and discovers something even stranger afterward.
The creatures leave behind mysterious energy that follows him back into reality.
That changes everything.
During the day, Lu Ze remains another student living inside humanity’s massive galactic federation, surrounded by cultivation classes, advanced combat training, and people far more talented than himself. At night, he enters a world where every mistake carries the feeling of real death, forcing him to become stronger faster than he ever intended.
The deeper he ventures into that mysterious realm, the more unsettling things become. Strange creatures, unknown landscapes, and certain terrifying existences begin appearing often enough that Lu Ze starts questioning whether this place was ever meant to be discovered by humans at all.
And somewhere along the way, the once-average young man slowly starts becoming something far more dangerous than anyone around him realizes.
