Capítulo 2348: Chapter 184: Ambush

The landscape within Soul Falling was constantly changing. He had once passed through here on his way to the Cloud Sky Realm, but now retracing his steps, the place had lost its familiar appearance from his memory.

Meanwhile, the sound behind him was rapidly approaching:

“Do you think you can use this place to stall me? Ha! Wishful thinking!”

Wang Ba felt a sinking in his heart but didn’t turn his head, instead swinging his sword backward with another slash!

The gray light pursuing from behind quickly dodged, its figure momentarily stalled.

The Black Foxes, who had just missed the opportunity to besiege Wang Ba, opened their sharp mouths as the gray light passed by and collectively emitted an illusory sound!

So many illusory sounds all targeted the gray light at once.

The gray light halted once more, revealing the figure of a gray-robed monk with a touch of annoyance.

“A bunch of vile beasts!”

With a thought, his other intact sleeve swept across the air, and from the surrounding void came a sharp wailing and sounds of escape.

“Humph!”

The gray-robed monk glanced at the fleeing demonic beasts, but couldn’t be bothered to chase them. Seeing Wang Ba pulling away once more, he turned into a gray light again out of frustration, golden light surging around him as he charged recklessly through Soul Falling in relentless pursuit of Wang Ba.

Feeling the Northern Great Bodhisattva closing in again, Wang Ba dodged a giant rock rolling toward him ahead. Though his heart was heavy, his expression remained unchanged, and his Spiritual Sense finally, in that instant, enveloped the entire Soul Falling.

“Found it, it’s here!”

The moment he took in the entirety of Soul Falling, a wave of exhilaration surged through Wang Ba!

Within his Spiritual Sense, vortexes of Realm Sea were slowly rotating in a portion of the void within the Soul Falling…

At the same moment, a shiver ran through Wang Ba’s heart.

He quickly sensed a Buddha Bead rapidly closing in from behind!

“Here it comes again!”

Wang Ba’s eyes turned cold. If he couldn’t completely shake off this Northern Great Bodhisattva, he wouldn’t have any chance of escaping this place.

With a slight thought, Divine Patterns shimmered, and he instantly vanished from his original spot!

The Buddha Bead passed through the illusion left by Wang Ba, then flew back to the hand of the gray-robed monk in pursuit.

“Huh?”

The gray-robed monk’s gaze slightly tensed, then he let out a cold laugh:

“Let’s see where you can escape to!”

With a thought, peculiar profoundness differing from regular rules appeared before his eyes.

“There!”

As the words fell, the gray-robed monk also instantly disappeared.

On reappearing, he quickly scanned his surroundings but was momentarily baffled:

“Still here?”

Floating rocks, rolling Chaos Origin Substance; barely any difference from the previous location.

No time to ponder, his Spiritual Sense swiftly caught the glimpse of green light flying rapidly among the interlacing giant rocks in the distance, and he immediately went in pursuit!

Yet in the instant he missed the giant rock, an endless darkness suddenly enveloped him!

“An ambush!?”

The gray-robed monk’s heart skipped a beat, and almost simultaneously, a warning erupted in his mind.

Instinctively, his figure slightly shifted, raising his hand in defense.

Silently, invisibly, unknowingly, he suddenly realized that his protective Divine Skills had been directly pierced!

In a hair’s breadth, he stretched out his hand, barely managing to block it!

An excruciating pain instantly surged through his mind!

Infuriated, the gray-robed monk was just about to fly out from the darkness when suddenly he saw the darkness disappear, replaced by a dim void visible to the naked eye.

That green light that had flown far away was now not far from him, heading once more toward the boundless Chaos Origin Substance in the distance.

Looking down, a perfectly smooth cut had appeared in his palm, piercing through the center, with Demonic Qi seeping out, only to be quickly sealed again by his Golden Body.

“Taiyi!”

The gray-robed monk was both shocked and furious.

Now he understood clearly. That green light earlier was nothing more than an Illusion Technique cast by the opponent. In his eagerness to pursue, he had carelessly fallen into a trap, allowing the opponent to ambush him near the giant rock and launch a sneak attack.

Despite his anger, he couldn’t help but secretly admire the opponent’s courage.

Clearly not his match, they still had the guts to ambush him. In fact, given his Cultivation Realm, as long as he paid a bit of attention, he would notice the opponent’s flaws—thus he never expected the opponent would actually lay in ambush to attack him, but the opponent precisely exploited his psychology, completing a successful sneak attack.

Despite the vast difference in their strengths, even though the opponent’s Dao Treasure was powerful, it only inflicted minor injuries on him.

But to him, this was nothing short of an immense humiliation!

“Wait!”

“Don’t underestimate the enemy!”

“He might just want to provoke me and take the opportunity to escape…”

Gazing intently, the gray-robed monk turned into gray light again without hesitation, pursuing the green light within his senses.

But this time, he was noticeably much more cautious, paying extra attention to his surroundings.

Whoosh—

Gale winds howled, rolling Chaos Origin Substance like waves of fog.

The gray light sped through it, still charging recklessly yet with added vigilance.

Seeing the distance to the green light in front closing fast, the gray-robed monk gripped a Buddha Bead in his palm, ready to unleash it at any moment.

Just then, his gaze suddenly shifted!

In the distant, boundless Chaos Origin Substance, a colossal black shadow was silently sprawled at the edge of visibility, the surrounding Chaos Origin Substance constantly absorbed and emitted by it.

The green light transformed by True Man Taiyi lunged at it!

Seeing this, the gray-robed monk instantly heightened his alertness.

“An ally?”

The giant object appeared distant, but in reality, it was very close. In almost a blink of an eye, within the fog-like Chaos Origin Substance, the two had already come face-to-face with the gigantic object’s true form.
