Summary
Yuan Zhou hasn’t stepped inside his parents’ old restaurant in years. After they died in an accident, the small noodle shop became a place he couldn’t bring himself to face, so he left it locked away while taking whatever work he could find. Time never made those memories easier to carry, and eventually he decides the shop has no place in his future. The lease is prepared, the keys are ready to change hands, and the family business is only hours away from belonging to someone else.
That night, everything changes.
A strange system appears with a single demand, reopen the restaurant and become the world’s greatest chef. Yuan Zhou almost treats it as a bad joke until the rewards, rules, and impossible standards prove it is real. Walking away is suddenly no longer an option, so he tears up the lease, unlocks the dusty storefront, and starts bringing the forgotten restaurant back to life with his own hands.
The biggest surprise comes after the restaurant opens. Yuan Zhou isn’t blessed with miraculous talent, and the system refuses to solve problems for him. Every recipe has to be practiced until it reaches an exact standard, every mistake earns criticism instead of praise, and even the simplest bowl of noodles or plate of egg fried rice demands hours of repetition before it is considered acceptable. His stubborn personality doesn’t make things easier either, especially once he starts sticking to strict business rules that confuse customers and frustrate almost everyone around him.
The shop is tiny, the menu begins with only a handful of dishes, and the prices leave plenty of first-time customers questioning whether the place is worth visiting at all. That skepticism doesn’t last forever. Word quietly spreads, regulars begin lining up long before opening hours, and the little restaurant that Yuan Zhou almost abandoned slowly earns a reputation few people can explain. What begins as an attempt to save his parents’ final legacy gradually turns into a journey where every new dish, every customer, and every small achievement pushes him one step closer to a goal that once sounded completely impossible.
