Summary
Song Nuanyi was not even forty when a terminal illness brought her life to an end. She had spent years taking care of her husband, raising their children, and serving her mother-in-law, believing that her devotion would one day be returned. Instead, she passed away on the very day of her son’s wedding. While the family celebrated the occasion, no one noticed she was missing. By the time they found her lifeless body, all they had to say was, “Just bury her.” In the end, the woman who had given everything to her family left the world without anyone grieving her.
Only one person came.
Standing at a distance, Song Nuanyi watched the man she had always avoided kneel before her grave. The arrogant Young Master Jin, whom the capital mocked as an irresponsible playboy, wept without restraint. His grief was so raw that it shattered everything she thought she knew. Too late, she realized the one person who truly loved her had been the one she never chose.
Then fate granted her another chance.
Song Nuanyi opened her eyes to find herself back on the day before her wedding. The memories of her previous life remained painfully clear, leaving no room for hesitation. Instead of preparing to marry the wrong man again, she rushed straight to the racing circuit in search of Jin.
The moment she found him, she blurted out, “I’m getting married tomorrow. Aren’t you going to crash the wedding? Aren’t you going to steal me away?”
Jin stared at her as though she had lost her mind before letting out a helpless laugh. “Miss Song, did you hit your head?”
Ignoring the question, she stepped closer. “I’ll only ask once more. Do you have the courage to come or not?”
Rather than answering, he casually handed her a bank card. “If you’re really unwell, use this to see a doctor.”
Song Nuanyi accepted it without the slightest embarrassment and smiled. “Then I’ll consider this your betrothal gift.”
She walked away, leaving Jin frozen in place, completely bewildered by what had just happened. Before long, rumors spread throughout the capital that the Song family’s proud young lady had gone looking for the city’s infamous playboy. When his friends demanded an explanation, Jin merely flashed a grin and said, “Come with me tomorrow. We’ve got something interesting to do.”
As the wedding drew closer, Song Nuanyi could only hope she hadn’t arrived too late to rewrite both of their destinies.
