Summary
Yu Gangan expected the hardest part after the accident to be learning how to walk again. Instead, she woke up to discover that everyone around her seemed to know a life she couldn’t remember.
Her aunt greeted her with tears, relief, and an announcement that sounded completely absurd. The man standing beside the bed was supposedly her fiancé, Yang Tianyou, someone she had once loved enough to talk about marrying every single day. He smiled as though nothing had changed. Yu Gangan looked at him the same way she would look at a stranger on the street. No matter how hard she searched her memories, his face meant nothing.
Pretending to remember would have been easier, but she couldn’t force herself to trust someone simply because everyone else insisted she should.
Before she had time to untangle that mess, another visitor quietly walked into the hospital room.
Fang Zhihan didn’t argue, didn’t raise his voice, and didn’t seem interested in convincing anyone. He merely looked at Yu Gangan and calmly informed her that Yang Tianyou wasn’t the man she should be listening to because she was already married.
To him.
The room fell silent. Yu Gangan almost laughed. If one fake fiancé wasn’t enough, now she had acquired a husband she had never seen before. The strange part was that Fang Zhihan carried himself with the confidence of someone who had no reason to lie, and the evidence he produced only made everything more confusing.
Choosing either man felt like stepping into a trap.
Rather than accepting convenient answers, Yu Gangan begins pulling at every loose thread surrounding the accident. The missing weeks before she woke up, the people suddenly deciding what her future should look like, even her own relatives, everything starts feeling connected in ways she cannot quite explain. The closer she gets to the truth, the less she believes her memory loss was the only thing left behind after that accident.
Fang Zhihan never makes the search any easier. His words are few, his expression rarely changes, and he has an irritating habit of helping without explaining himself. He knows more than he admits, yet refuses to reveal everything at once, leaving Yu Gangan caught between doubting him and relying on him anyway.
By the time forgotten secrets begin surfacing, the question is no longer whether Fang Zhihan is really her husband. It becomes why so many people worked so hard to make sure she would never learn the answer for herself.
