Summary
Nobody would have guessed that clicking a random pop-up after losing a game would become the biggest decision of Lin Xiu’s life.
He certainly didn’t.
Fresh out of university and still unable to find a job, he had already grown used to disappointing days. The strange message asking whether he wanted to leave reality looked like another cheap advertisement, so he pressed “Yes” simply to make it disappear.
The next time he opened his eyes, he wasn’t sitting in front of his computer anymore.
The date had changed to the year 2666. Humanity was still alive, but only barely. Cities had become fortresses, ordinary people relied on warriors for protection, and the land outside safe zones belonged to zombies, mutated beasts, and creatures nobody from Lin Xiu’s old world had ever imagined.
Things became even worse after he learned whose body he had inherited.
This Lin Xiu wasn’t famous because of talent. He was famous because everyone knew he was weak. Students mocked him openly, instructors expected very little from him, and even routine training felt like something his body could barely survive. If nothing changed, his future had already been decided for him.
Then something did change.
A strange interface appeared before his eyes after his first real fight. Every creature he killed left behind more than a corpse. Battles became experience, experience became strength, and abilities that should have taken years slowly started appearing where they shouldn’t.
Nobody else seemed to notice it.
Lin Xiu kept that secret to himself, partly because he didn’t understand it, partly because this world had already taught him what happened to people who revealed too much too soon.
He still lost fights. He still got hurt. There were days when running away sounded smarter than standing his ground. But the boy everyone laughed at yesterday kept returning a little stronger than before, and after enough victories, even the people who hated him had to admit something was wrong.
By then, Lin Xiu had stopped worrying about how to get back home.
Staying alive until tomorrow had become difficult enough.
