Summary
If there is one thing Chen Feng is known for, it is having terrible luck.
Not the kind of bad luck people joke about after missing a bus or failing an exam, but the sort that makes others genuinely unwilling to stand too close to him. Things break at the wrong time, accidents happen for no apparent reason, and situations that should be harmless somehow become dangerous to his life and others. After dealing with it for most of his life, even Chen Feng has stopped expecting things to go his way.
That does not stop him from looking for answers.
Over the years, he develops an interest in old stories, strange legends, and anything that might explain why his life seems cursed from the start. Most of what he finds turns out to be nonsense, though one particular discovery ends up leading him somewhere he never expected.
When Chen Feng opens his eyes again, he is no longer on Earth.
The world he arrives in is built around genetic evolution. Researchers, genetic producers, and warriors occupy positions that would have seemed impossible back home, while powerful genetic abilities influence almost every aspect of society. At first glance, the civilization appears advanced and prosperous. Looking a little closer reveals another side of it, one filled with dangerous creatures, restricted zones, and risks that exist far beyond the safety of the major cities.
Compared to those born and raised there, Chen Feng starts with very little. He has to learn unfamiliar rules, adapt to a completely different environment, and find a place for himself among people whose understanding of the world is nothing like his own.
The only unusual thing he brings with him is the same mystery that followed him throughout his previous life.
For reasons Chen Feng does not fully understand, probability never seems to behave normally around him.
Sometimes that is a good thing.
Sometimes it is not.
Either way, surviving in a world obsessed with genetic power is difficult enough without luck deciding to become involved as well.
