Nobody in town expected to hear Nora Smith’s name again.
Five years earlier, she had left behind nothing but gossip. People remembered the broken engagement, the constant criticism, and the endless rumors that seemed to follow her wherever she went. By the time she disappeared, most had already decided what kind of person she was.
Nora never bothered correcting them.
Back then, she had more important things to worry about.
Now she is back, and the familiar streets feel smaller than she remembers. The neighbors who once watched her every move are still around, relatives still have opinions about how she should live her life, and old acquaintances suddenly seem very interested in catching up.
Unfortunately for them, Nora is not interested in revisiting old arguments.
